A spectacular trek in the Dolpo Region, the Tarap Valley is wild and beautiful. The route follows the river north to Do Tarap, then crosses two high passes to reach Phoksumdo Lake and Ringmo. The sample itinerary below then returns to Dunai and the airstrip at Juphal (in 14 days), but it is also possible to add seven to ten days and go north to Shey Gompa and Saldang.
Like all Dolpo treks, this route can also start by walking in through Dhorpatan National Park, nine or ten days from the roadhead at Beni
